Clear Tomato Soup

Traditional south Indian soup 'Rasam' is made with lentil stock and tomatoes. This is a simple soup and can be enjoyed during cold winter nights. Special warming ingredients such as curry leaves, black pepper, turmeric, and ginger help with digestion and provide natural warmth to our bodies. If you cannot find curry leaves (only to be found at the Indian store), then squeeze a tablespoon of lemon, and that should do the trick. Curry leaves are quintessential to south India, and every family grows their own curry leaf plant. Back home, my mom has a huge curry leaf plant, it is almost a tree, and just rubbing your fingers on the leaves oozes essential oils from these delicious curry leaves....

Pistachio Madeleines

I have had many madeleines during my visits to France. Some were dunked in ganache, some were dusted with powdered sugar, and some were just plain and freshly baked. As I recently started baking, I found this recipe in Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bakery cookbook. Adding a twist to your regular madeleine, I found his Pistachio Madeleine recipe an Indianish recipe. I have made this recipe a few times, and I have made it with walnut butter (since I had some), so I just playing with various kinds of nut butters and see what you like. Brown Lentils (Masoor Dal)

 This is a healthy recipe for this time of the year. I love lentils and they are great for your health. I hope you enjoy this recipe. Chili Brownies

My friend (she does not want me to share their name) makes the best brownies. I love them, and I do not make them because I may eat them all, haha, seriously, they are so good! This brownie recipe makes a quarter-sheet (9 by 13 inch cookie sheet). Serves: 12 large pieces Ingredients 8 oz lb melted unsalted butter 8 oz lb melted chocolate 4 eggs 1 cup white sugar 1 cup brown sugar (PACK BROWN SUGAR) 1 cup AP flour 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (to make chili brownies) Method Add butter (FIRST) and then chocolate chips to a bain marie.
