These Spicy Turkey & Pea Wontons are crispy pockets of flavor, combining tender leftover turkey, fresh peas, and a kick from Rupen's chili paste. Perfectly golden and satisfying, they make an ideal snack or appetizer with a punchy dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 cups leftover turkey, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup peas, cooked and mashed slightly
- 2 tbsp cilantro, finely chopped
- 1-2 tbsp Rupen's chili paste (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional for extra flavor)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 20-25 wonton wrappers
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
-
Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, mix the chopped turkey, mashed peas, cilantro, and Rupen's chili paste. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and season with salt and pepper. Stir until well combined.
-
Assemble the Wontons: Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a bit of water, then fold it into a triangle or press together to seal tightly.
-
Heat the Oil: In a deep pan or pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C) for frying.
-
Fry the Wontons: Fry a few wontons at a time, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
-
Serve: Serve hot with a dipping sauce, such as soy sauce mixed with a dash of vinegar and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro.
