YouTube: How to use Rupen's Makhani Sauce
A Butter Chicken recipe created in Delhi around India’s independence in 1947 inspires our MAKHANI. The result is a silky smooth, creamy tomato sauce.
Growing up in Mumbai, India, my mom wanted this recipe in the 1980s. There was no internet then, and there was not much intra-regional travel within India. No one we knew had this recipe as this recipe is from the northern state of India, Punjab. Most restaurants and chefs would not share this recipe either, and finally, when my mom got it, her joy knew no bounds, and it changed her life and ours :)
