You will receive two curry sauces in our East Meets West sauce set, both our new offerings. One from the east of India and one from the west of India:
Sweet & Spicy Asian-style Curry (TENGA)
Fresh Herb & Coconut Curry (KONKAN)
Our sauces are ready to use straight out of the jar. Saute meat or vegetables, add sauce, simmer for a few minutes, and your sauce is done! One jar is sufficient for one lb of meat or vegetables.
Tenga:
Tenga is a famous sweet and spicy curry from the east Indian state of Assam. It uses East Indian spices such as Nigella seeds and fennel seeds. Aromatics such as kaffir lime and galangal, typically found in Asian cuisine, are also used in this curry.
Konkan:
Konkan, the ‘corner piece,’ is a coastal land on the west coast of India. Hindu scriptures mention that this land was created when one of the avatars of Lord Vishnu threw an axe into the sea and commanded the Sea God to recede to where his axe had fallen. This curry, made from a fresh herb paste and coconut milk, represents this coast’s bounty.
Rupen's sauces bring authetic Indian taste to the dishes that are so difficult to make in this age of fast track life. They are perfect for me when I get a craving for chicken tikka masala or vegetable korma in the middle of the week while I am working from home. Just add the sauce to meat or veg and put it in oven and 30 min later a delicious meal is ready to eat.
